Replication

• Topic selection: for this week’s homework submission, find a journal article that employs methods covered (or soon to be covered) in this semester’s course, and replicate the analysis. Alternatively, you may choose an article that uses a method not covered in class but that you are interested in learning through replication. As we move into more advanced topics (such as duration models later in the semester), I recommend selecting articles related to each week’s topic to enhance your learning experience.

• In your replication, aim not only to reproduce the results but also to interpret the findings in your own words. This will help deepen your understanding of the methods and their application. Your interpretation will be checked every now and then by me.

• Upload your replication to your GitHub repo by next Wed 11:59pm

• Housekeeping: On your repository, create separate folders for replication1, replication2, and replication3, etc. In each folder, include the following:

  • the original article
  • the data
  • a pdf of your replication
  • the Quarto doc that generates your replication

Missing any of these files may be considered a failure to submit your homework.
